Stan Walker just part of the Youth Week celebrations
BREAK dancing, a battle of the bands and Idol sensation Stan Walker are creating a buzz in the lead-up to Penrith City’s Youth Week, held from now until April 16.
This year’s theme is ``Own it’’ and it is giving 12 to 25-year-olds a chance to assert themselves creatively and show off their skills.
Wednesday, April 6, is the Derry Youth Night at Londonderry Neighbourhood Centre. It will feature break dancing lessons, music and a sausage sizzle.
There’s also a ``young and bold’’ event at Imagine Nations Church in Orchard Hills on the same night, which will showcase Stan Walker, a Battle of the Bands and dance competition.
The week will wrap up with a sporting and community awards presentation for young people with disabilities on Saturday, April 9.
A traditional Philippines dance performance at the St Marys community and cultural precinct will round out the week on Saturday, April 16.
