The singer will fly to the earthquake ravaged country tomorrow and wants to get his hands dirty.
"I want to help out, I want to do what I can as they rebuild their country," Walker told music reporter Cameron Adams yesterday.
Walker is being flown in by Christian charity group Compassion, which will film the two-week trip for TV.
He already sponsors two Haitian children. A boy he originally sponsored died with his mother in the earthquake.
"That was the realisation this is real," Walker said.
"People see little clips on the TV of people dying and trying to survive, you get a slight bit of compassion, then there's an ad break or a new show comes on.
"I want to go over there because I want my heart to break, I want to feel this, I want to feel it so I can understand."
Walker will also perform in Haiti. "I am nervous, I'm such a sook, eh, I reckon I'll cry every day," he said.
Walker managed to squeeze in filming a clip for his new single,
Unbroken, in Melbourne's Degraves St yesterday
