Australian Idol winner Stan Walker has been announced as the headline act for Easterfest 2010.

THE last time an Australian Idol winner performed at Easterfest, fans resorted to climbing trees in order to get a glimpse of the sold-out show.

Five years after Guy Sebastian’s crowd-winning performance, it’s this year’s Australian Idol winner Stan Walker’s turn to amaze Toowoomba at Easterfest 2010.

Easterfest CEO Isaac Moody said Mr Walker was the best talent to come from Australian Idol since the original winner Guy Sebastian.

“On behalf of Easterfest, we’re really excited about having Stan Walker on the line-up,” Mr Moody said.

“The festival sold out for Guy’s performance, and we’re expecting a huge surge in attendees for Stan’s performance.

“Thankfully this time, recent landscaping and renovations mean we can fit even more audience members at the main stage.”

Mr Moody said Queens Park’s amphitheatre could now fit around 15,000 people.

“The re-modelling of the amphitheatre came at the same time we secured Mr Walker on the line-up. It’s perfect timing.”

Mr Walker’s single Black Box debuted at number two on the ARIA charts.

Stan Walker will join other headline acts Newsboys, Superchick, Compliments of Gus, As I Lay Dying, Sanctus Real, Songs of Korah, Hawk Nelson and KJ-52 at Easterfest 2010, held over the Easter weekend.

NathanNation wrote:Ah that's annoying. :( Perhaps the rest of you can look up webjet and see if there are cheap flights. It'll be tough because Easter gets booked out early. It's too far to drive from Melbourne. It has been done but road safety is an issue.
