GOOD Charlotte's Joel and Benji Madden are much shorter than you would assume.
Two thousand of their fans - including one who unexpectedly threw them a pair of nanna knickers - surrounded the pair, who put on a surprise Channel [V] gig yesterday in Rundle Mall.
Kicking back with a beer later, the chilled-out twins say they were keen to come back here.
"Adelaide's rad," Joel tells Confidential. "We've always liked Adelaide. Shows go off here. "
The superstars were keen to say some of their fave bands come from Down Under including Idol winner Stan Walker with whom they were hoping to catch up. Silverchair is another fave while Living End and Adelaide's own Jimmy Barnes had honourable mentions.
"I've always been a fan of Delta (Goodrem), I think she's really talented," Joel says. "We're big fans of Australian music."
Benji says: "As musicians they're some of our heroes, they're such good musicians."
Joel's two children with wife Nicole Richie look to have been given the musical gene. "My children got music coming from both sides so I don't know who they take after but they're definitely very musical," Joel says.
